Nicola and Michael Sacher sell stylish accessories for dogs-and cats, including beds, collars, bowls - and even a new fragrance

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START THE BUSINESS?

Our dog George was the catalyst. When we got him seven years ago we couldn't find anywhere to buy well-designed pet accessories that would integrate well in our home, so we decided to develop our own. We designed and sourced materials and commissioned craftspeople to create products that are not only practical, but also stylish and contemporary.

ARE ALL THE PRODUCTS YOUR OWN CREATIONS?

Yes, each piece is meticulously considered before it's produced. We like minimalist and tactile items and natural materials, such as linen, leather and cotton.

WHAT ARE THE TOP SELLERS?

Our Bolster Beds (right), which are so comfortable you'll want to curl up in one yourself. Also our leads and collars and organic treats, which are made to Mungo & Maud's own recipe.

HOW DOES THE DOG SKETCHBOOK WORK?

This is a bespoke book that provides an illustrated account of your dog's life. Simply send us images and a few nicknames and we'll create the illustrated book, which is bound in grey canvas with your dog's name in white letters on the front.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR FRAGRANCE FOR DOGS ...

We wanted to produce an original fragrance from refined ingredients that would appeal to pets and their owners. The idea was that it would refresh the dog between washes, but without being overpowering. We enlisted the help of well-known perfumer Lyn Harris, who worked with us to create Petite Amande. Inspired by nature, it has delicate notes of Tunisian neroli, French blackcurrant, mimosa and violet leaf on a base of sweet bourbon vanilla with a little almond, hence the name.

WHAT ELSE MAKES YOUR WEBSITE UNIQUE?

We've recently set up a gift registry. As so many people buy wedding gifts in our store, we thought we'd make it easier by allowing them to create a list online. You can even use it to set up a birthday wish list for your dogs and cats.
